This literary rarity shows the best in children’s literature: an unstrained lightness of style, an authentic child’s perspective, a real sense of humour and a wealth of topics taken directly from children’s everyday life, but presented in an intriguing, attractive and fresh way. Siusie is fascinated by her surrounding world that she explores in an energetic way, with all the interest of a child, which is sometimes teasing, from her own imagination. She also observes the life that adults live and tries to understand it in her way. Her parents are important and faithful companions during this “research”, depicted here with humour and warm irony. Siusie is the hero of everyday life – a neighbourhood girl, but writer avoids any sweet banalities –Siusie’s friend is not the expected Barbie doll, but carrot with painted eyes.
