In the spirit of Duane Michals' photographic sequences, Bernadette Gervais' remarkable drawing immerses the little reader in the alternation of the seasons, the poppy's blossoming, the growth of the chicks or the construction of a snowman. This is a gentle introduction to the notion of time and the logic of life, which dictates that a pear is green before it ripens and then rots.
