1938. An earthquake destroys part of the city of Puerto Montt in Chile. Englishman Sir Orville Black and Frenchwoman Salomé Declercq, a former Aéropostale pilot, challenge each other to be the first to land in order - officially - to help the population. The young woman takes to the skies accompanied by a young journalist tasked with covering the event. Accustomed to handling a pen, the latter will discover, among other things, how to handle a machine-gun! This perilous journey in the air will reveal Orville Black's treachery, but also the blossoming of a new relationship between the two French teammates. This adventure novel set in the aviation world on the eve of the Second World War is tinged with feminism and heroism, as well as humor and emotion. A race of epic proportions!
