Rebecca Dautremer freezes the frame and the time at the precise moment when Jacominus rolls over a marble, falls and is left limp. He is surrounded by a hundred characters who sumptuously recount what they were doing at that very second. A large-format Leporello unfolds over a distance of almost three meters, presenting on the front a fresco of multiple short stories, numbered and told in a small booklet slipped into a pocket. On the reverse: a line drawing of the fresco, with numbers, so you can play at identifying the hundred characters and situations. How do they live? What are they thinking? What are they all doing at this very second? Joyful moments, serious ones, in groups or alone: that is life! A spectacular and magnificent album, of infinite richness and undeniable graphic beauty (one obviously thinks of Brueghel the Elder, but the cultural references are manifold).
