The whole day the kid waits for his mom and dad to get home from work in the hope that they will fulfill his dream and bring him a hippo — a huge, beautiful one with whom he would play all day. But when the parents come home, there’s no hippo to be seen. The kid is upset. And then mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, the aunt and even cats help him take his mind off that with a fun game. This picture book is great for both adults to read it to the kids, and for the kids to play with it, looking for hippos on each page and learning to count them.
