This is a sweet story about an unusual friendship between the Dormouse and the tiny Cricket – they must overcome enormous differences, both in size and habits. They also have to deal with saying goodbye, as crickets only live for a few months. On their adventures, they meet a dog that is unlike either of them but ends up comforting the Dormouse when the latter loses his closest friend. The story is about the need for love and the differences that this desire can conquer.
