At first glance, this seems to be a striking theme for a children's book. The Holeeater is a creature that feeds on holes. However, he can never get saturated. The more hole he eats, the more hungry he gets, so he goes off to the world to eat his stomach full. The Holeeater travells and during his trip he is getting wiser and wiser. Finally he gets back home, where he drinks water and finally feels its flavour and is full. For children, this is a book with a nice story, full of space for imagination and the lessons learned. For an adult, the book is a philosophical reflection on the essence of emptiness and the need of man to fill the emptiness with things that in fact only make the problem worse.
