Young author Tomas Dirgėla (1989) has created a exceptional and fun tale about a witch that can be one way sometimes, and another way at other times. Though she lives in a hut in the woods like witches normally do and has a black cat by the name Mouse, her life is very colourful. Thisandthat writes poetry, tries to develop a career as a singer, buys a car and tries to drive it, and finally falss in love. This book of her adventures, which are sprinkled with the fun spices of nonsensical absurdity, actually break down the problems of a modern lifestyle. The book’s illustrator, Dalia Karpavičiūtė (1972), conveys the spirit of the book with her easy and minimalist-like drawings. Separate details, precise silhouettes of the drawings and colour scope give the book an exceptional stylishness.
