Book of short stories with great illustrations for teenagers and their parents. The stories approach the current world of children at a time when their lives or events in the lives of their loved ones are often complicated due to new social circumstances, due to new stressful situations in relationships with parents, illness, racial differences, feelings of outsiders, or first love. In spite of the difficult themes, the ending of the short stories is always positive and peaceful. They are modern stories of loss and new horizons in life for almost adult heroes. The book of short stories by Jana Bodnárová is called 13. The name is symbolic, often known for a difficult age in a child's life, and most of the heroes or heroines in the individual stories are exactly 13 years of age. The book won the award The Most Beautiful and The Best Children's Book of the Summer 2012, the BIB Plaque 2013 for illustrations, and a Diploma Paper as one of The Most beautiful books of Slovakia 2012.
