Es war einmal und wird noch lange sein

This is an aesthetic journey through space and time from the beginnings of the earth to us humans. In ever shorter leaps in time, we approach the present. And then? – "Make a wish!", it says in the middle of the book, and with that the journey continues into the future. The viewers are accompanied on a personal, almost philosophical exploration of possibilities: approaching everything that may lie ahead of each of us. This picture book astonishes through its perfection of content and form. The journey into past, present and future is framed by a sophisticated concept of sizes and formats. The watercolour and acrylic paintings, diversely designed, collaged and layered, fascinate through the skilful interplay of colours, surfaces and structures. This is picture book art that pushes all possibilities to the limit. This title was nominated for the 2022 German Children՚s Literature Award.
