IBBY Europe also highlights books in the most common languages currently spoken by migrant or refugee children in Europe. These selections were made with the help of local children’s literature specialists. This section will be added to and expanded in the future, and we urge you to contact us if you have suggestions for books to be included in this useful selection.

100 Books for Young Readers in Arabic

This is a selection of 100 books in Arabic for young people published in various countries of the Arab world since 2018. A similar selection made in 2017 is accessible online.
These selections provide an overview of a literature that has experienced real growth over the past thirty years, offering quality works, many of which have won international prizes. Divided by genre and organised in alphabetical order of title, these choices also include some translations into Arabic of books initially published in other languages, with the aim of creating bridges between languages and cultures.

These selections were made by the Arab World reading committee of the French Takam Tikou magazine, which brings together professionals from different backgrounds (BnF, IMA, libraries of the City of Paris).
